Program Schedule:
Morning Session: Navigating AI in Senior Living (with practical steps for today).
Scott Walker, industry CIO, and Paul Wartenberg, AI and Microsoft 365 security expert, will lead a topic to explore the expanding role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Senior Living. As providers face tightening margins, persistent nursing shortages, and increasing operational headwinds, these technologies offer meaningful opportunities to elevate care quality while allowing clinical teams to focus on what they do best. The marketplace is rich with innovation—yet full of solutions that can be difficult to distinguish. At the same time, many organizations already have technology (such as Microsoft Copilot). Scott and Paul will share practical insights, industry observations, and actionable recommendations to help organizations navigate challenges and confidently plan for the road ahead.
Afternoon Session: Beyond infrastructure: Using technology to strengthen connection, wellness, and care
Senior living organizations are navigating a rapidly expanding technology landscape, with conversations often centering on operational risk, system selection, compliance, and return on investment. However, there is an equally important question leaders must keep at the center of these discussions: How can technology improve the daily lives of the people living and working in our communities?
This session will explore the broader trends shaping senior living technology and offer a practical framework for evaluating technology not only as infrastructure, but as a catalyst for wellness, connection, personalization, and workforce support. Participants will examine how thoughtful technology strategies can help reduce staff burden, streamline workflows, strengthen communication, and create opportunities for more personalized and meaningful resident engagement. The discussion will also consider how technology can help teams adopt a more whole-person approach to wellness by bringing together insights from across departments, identifying early signals of change, and supporting more proactive, personalized responses.
Drawing on examples from senior living providers and research initiatives, this session will highlight how technology can support both operational goals and person-centered outcomes. Attendees will leave with actionable ideas for leveraging technology in ways that balance operational needs with the deeper goal of enhancing quality of life, supporting staff, and creating more connected communities.
Closing Session: Sun Health
