If your community holds a license — Assisted Living, Behavioral Health, or Skilled Nursing, Hospice or Adult Day— this one's for you. We're bringing the regulators and the innovators into the same room for a full day built around what's actually changing in your world.
The morning opens with the NCIA Board walking through new educational requirements and what they mean for your teams. From there, we're thrilled to welcome PainChek, a company doing extraordinary work helping caregivers recognize pain in people who can't tell you where it hurts. This matters everywhere — dementia care, adult day, hospitals, any setting where communication is a barrier to good care. If you've ever wondered whether someone is in pain and had no way to know for sure, this session is going to change how your team approaches that question.
In the afternoon, Deputy Director Odette Colburn and her team from licensing will spend the full afternoon walking through licensing updates. Wherever you sit on the licensing spectrum, this is the room to be in.
This program is proudly sponsored by:

Hospice of the Valley Dementia Care Campus
Phoenix, AZ
This one's for the people doing the human side of care every day. Hospice of the Valley kicks things off with dementia programming and training, followed by Oakwood Creative sharing how they infuse joy into every level of adult day programming — a lesson that translates to any setting, any level of care.
We're also excited to welcome Geri Gadgets, whose founder will share an incredibly simple, inexpensive tool that's making a real difference for communities working with residents living with dementia.
And because you can't talk about the future of this work without talking about HR1 — we've brought in our friends from AHCCCS the Rural Health Grant Transformation program, and the Governor's Office to break down what's actually coming. Even if you think HR1 doesn't touch your organization, it does. This session covers what to watch, how it's going to hit your operations, and what HR directors and anyone working with Medicaid-involved residents need to know now. This is the kind of session you plan around, not one you catch the recap of later.
